My name is Colin Smith and I have been paddling Canoes and Kayaks for over 35 years.

I have been racing Canoes since the early eighties when I was inspired by watching the continental canoeists race their boats on the river Tryweryn in North Wales, at the 1981 Wild Water World..

I also enjoy recreational canoeing and have paddled extensively in Britain and France.

I have been a BCU qualified coach since 1984.  

Coaching experience

Coaching people with disabilities to elite athletes.  

I have also been a coach at Byrne Avenue Baths for 10 years.

 My competition success includes:-

· Great Britain Wild Water Racing Team 1990

· Twelve Liffey Descent medals, eight being gold

· 2006 and 2008 Wild Water Racing World Champion in Masters Canoe Doubles.
